Paul Gallagher – Lay Member and Vice Chair

Paul has been part of the Governing Body since April 2013. Paul was previously a police officer for 34 years and since retirement has worked as a project manager for the Local Criminal Justice Board, focusing on public confidence.

Paul has worked with staff from the NHS previously in partnership roles, but had little experience of the NHS as an organisation when he joined the Governing Body. He came into this role with no preconceived ideas and a willingness to learn how the service works and how engagement with the patients and public is carried out.

Paul is a member and Vice Chair of Cannock Chase CCG Governing Body, Chair of the Joint Quality Committee and Chair of the Individual Funding Request Panel. Paul also represents the CCG on the Audit Committee, Remuneration and Terms of Service Committee, Information Governance Committee, Clinical Prioritisation Advisory Group (CPAG), and the Communications and Engagement Committee.

Paul is also the Lay Member for Quality for South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula CCG.
