Joint Staff Awards 2016

Staff from Cannock Chase CCG, Stafford and Surrounds CCG and South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula CCG along with colleagues from Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit came together for their first joint staff awards on 21 June. 58 nominations were received, and the judging panel spent a long time making their decision. All winners and highly commended staff are listed below but all nominees also received a certificate.

“Theresa has taken on additional workload and offers assistance without being asked. She is extremely proactive and professional. She is conscientious in her work and offers to help and follow up actions, even when she is very busy covering for others.”

“Helen is a star! She is professional, confident, hardworking, caring and always has time for colleagues. Helen worked long hours in supporting the Chief Nurse and Designated Nurse in ensuring a seamless inspection. Her cheerfulness is infectious and lifts the team’s spirits. Helen always thinks ahead and helps us get the job done.”

“Ian proactively seeks out development opportunities and has assisted in key various areas of work including the planning process and agreement of balances. He has also provided significant supported to trainees and is always willing to help colleagues within and beyond finance with a friendly attitude.”


Lisa BatesWINNER
Lisa Bates, Lead Nurse Adult Safeguarding

“Lisa goes above and beyond for everyone; the most marked example is her support for the safeguarding secretary who is currently off sick with cancer. Lisa has visited, brought gifts, organised regular catch ups with the wider team and generally kept the team member informed of what's going on. Much of this has been done in her own time and at her own expense and is testament to the kind heart and character she possesses. I am proud to have such a caring and selfless individual in my team”.


Laura Bird Katie EmeryWINNERS

“Katie and Laura set up and developed a new system for patients who require some rehabilitation to continue to live the life they have prior to becoming ill. They have worked hard to ensure the process is slick and most patients are now receiving rehabilitation within 48 hours of referral. In addition to improving the patient’s journey this has also been of benefit to the CCGs financially.”

Jackie Newman, Individual Funding Requests (IFR) Administrator

“Jackie has a very difficult role, as largely the job is about telling people they can't have what they want or what they think they are entitled to. Jackie always stays calm and professional, and she ensures that requests are dealt with in a timely fashion with all the relevant information available.”

“Chris has worked throughout 2015/16 to develop the Transforming Care Programme Plan - this was recently submitted as part of the 2016/17 planning process and judged as excellent. She manages this challenging area of work well, her focus making a difference to the lives of the patients who she has commissioning responsibility for.”


Sara RogersWINNER
Sara Rogers, Corporate Support Manager; Executive Support to Chair, Governing Body and Chief Finance Officer

“Managing the entire admin team over the three CCGs, Sara divides her time across sites and encourages others to do so. Sara treats all of her staff equally and encourages integration. Sara has developed new ways of working for the admin team... She has contributed a great deal to the integration of the three CCGs and has been a real star supporting the OD programme.”
